Backdating health insurance
Asylum seekers awaiting a final decision on their asylum applications are housed in asylum centres.
They are insured collectively under the Asylum Seekers Healthcare Scheme (RZA) and are entitled to nearly all the care provided under the standard package and the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz).
I'm not really sure if this happened to anybody else, I was expecting to pay for the 3 first months as well and very happy that it didn't happen.
However I can't seem to put this down on the form, and they seem to have a start date (Versicherungsbeginn) of the 1st of Jan 2016. Do I just send this off and they calculate the right amount anyways?
I've put down the "Zuzeg aus dem Ausland" date as September, but seeing the 1st Jan 2016 is putting me off.
This is the one time of the year when you can change insurers (up to the end of November) so they're all chasing new business or trying to persuade people to switch over.
Hi Steve, Startdate of the health insurance is the date of arriving in Switzerland, up to three months back.
